correspondence

The Correspondence consists of two letters. The first, written by rabbis from the south of France to Maimonides, posed the question of the legitimacy of divinitory astrology and its compatibility with Jewish Law and Religion. The second letter consists of Maimonides' response. This work is an important document in the history of Judaism and its relationship with astrology because it raises some of the most fundamental objections that have been raised to astrology by its religious opponents.
